The Ledbury

Simply the best

Lamb, onion, leek, truffle

Yes, it is another blog about The Ledbury, and it is my first fine-dining restaurant that I have visited over 10 times besides Launceston Place (When Tim Allen was head chef). the reason I kept returning to The Ledbury is simple, it is hands down the best restaurant in London easily. Chef-owner Brett Graham has turned the restaurant into a destination place, with people willing to travel from around the world to sample his cooking. The restaurant has been in the World 50 Best List for over 5 consecutive years, as well as holding 2 Michelin stars.

Canapes
Oyster, Tartare of Sea Bream and Frozen English Wasabi
Plum and bacon
Roasted, quail, chestnut, truffle
Cornish cod, quinoa, tapioca

In my usual fashion, I had the tasting menu for my 11th visit. The quail with chestnut was stunning, the nutty aroma, combining with the earthiness of the truffle worked like a treat with the roasted quail, visually appealing with tones of lovely bold flavours. For fish, I had the steam cod with an interesting element of tapioca, it was a light but colourful dish, fresh in taste with a multilayer of wonderful texture. The main of roast lamb with onion is a classic flavour combination, but the taste was so refined. The meat was cooked perfectly, as was the seasoning. The leek element, along with the truffle offered some bold, rich umami tastes and I couldn't get enough of it.

Hen of the Woods, Potato Emulsion
Cheeses
Pre-desserts
Christmas tart
P4

Once again, The Ledbury delivered another stunning meal, everything was done in such a refined manner, everything on a dish had a reason to be on the plate. No gimmick, just pure sensation in terms of flavours. The service, as usual, was wonderful too, fantastic service with exquisite food, what is not to love? The creative, forward-thinking approach, along with the world-class touch has made The Ledbury such a unique restaurant. In my view, The Ledbury is easily the best restaurant in London, and gods know why it has not yet earned a 3rd Michelin star.
