Best burger in town?

The London burger trend has showed no signs of slowing down, we are seeing new burger places opening up left and right for more than 1 year now. With so many burger joints around in London, where to go for a good quality burger? I went to Honest Burger in Soho for the first time last year when it just opened, I wasn't expecting much as a burger is a burger at the end of the day. But that visit changed my views...

The menu

So 1 year later I went back on a warm summer day, one special mention about the place is its queueing system, Honest Burger is a tiny place with no booking policy so it is normal that you need to wait for about 1 hour on a busy evening, but what they do is take your number and message you a link that informs you with live updates about your table so you can go off and plan your timing accordingly which other non booking restaurants should follow, it just makes us diners' life so much easier.

I had the house burger: Honest Burger, onion relish, bacon, cheese, cucumber and lettuce. Served medium rare just how I like it, the meat was such a delight, meaty, juicy and packed with richness, the beef quality was just top class thanks to using a premium meat supplier. The onion relish was also done brilliantly, not overly sweet and there was a  nice spicy undertone which added some robust flavours, and the chips.... the chips that came with rosemary salt were top notch, nice herbal and peppery flavours and I can say that I enjoyed it more than the triple cooked chips at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal!

So there you go, Honest burger in my view is the best burger joint in London, it is miles better than other high profile burger places such as Patty & Bun, Byron or Meat Liquor. Service was also great, it was a busy evening but they handled everything well and always with a smile, unlike this particular place which I totally don't get why it's getting such hype. If you are looking for a great burger in London, Honest Burger is the place to go. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
