Sweet treats
Desserts seem to be the next hot food trend in London, and the Pudding Bar in Soho might well be one of the first that kick off such a trend. Already a hot spot for bloggers and with a large amount of positive media coverage, it serves nothing but desserts and drinks, and sounded like an interesting concept and one that I can really think is going to work out. To get a chance to try all the desserts, I went for the tasting menu which is a giant plate of five different sweet treats.

Claude Bosi's 2 star Michelin restaurant on Maddox Street really needs no introduction any more, it is regarded as one of the top fine dining restaurants in London and has just reached new heights by coming 5th in the Waitrose Good Food Guide 2015, scoring a 9/10. As I am a big fan of Hibiscus, I felt it has been far too long since I last visited so I grabbed a few foreign friends to showcase to them what high level French food is like in London.

Launceston Place, the crown jewels of the D&D restaurant group and perhaps one of the best restaurants in London is a personal favourite of mine. From the lovely and informal services to the excellent food, Launceston Place guarantees high levels of fine dining experiences at amazing values. This time we had a special 10 course tasting menu for a birthday occasion for my 6th visit, and again it turned out to be such an incredible evening.
Refreshing small plates

Rivea |
Rivea is a new Italian restaurant by the world famous chef Alain Ducasse, located inside the super posh Bulgari Hotel which has a lovely staircase leading to the main restaurant space. Food is served on small plates like tapas size with the waiter suggesting ordering between four to five dishes each. At lunchtime they offer a pretty good deal at £35 for 4 courses and tea or coffee which is what we went for.
Fine French in Soho

Gauthier Soho is a household name in the ever busy Soho district, it has a reputation of serving some well refined classic French food in an intimate setting. I had a big gathering there not long ago and had the large group menu, but knowing large group is never ideal to truly taste what a restaurant can really deliver, I headed back for its tasting menu after discovering it had a two for one offer from its newsletter.
Social Greek food

Opso |
I was on a hunt for a brunch spot in Bond Street and Opso came up in my research, Opso is a new Greek restaurant in Marylebone and managed to gain some positive ratings from the locals. On the day I visited it was jam packed while The Real Greek which is directly opposite was completely empty and it was truly amusing. The decor of Opso took on a modern approach with bar space at the front and a large communal table in the main restaurant space. As Greek food is somewhat a new territory for me, I wasn't sure what I was in for.
