London’s fine dining scene has reached new heights—literally. The newly opened Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High in Bishopsgate is making waves as one of the most exclusive and breathtaking dining experiences in the City. Located on the 60th floor of 22 Bishopsgate, it is an intimate 12-seat Chef’s table offering a blind 8-course tasting menu, designed to provide an immersive and theatrical dining experience, where guests can witness the artistry and precision of a three-Michelin-starred team working right in front of them while overlooking the jaw-dropping panoramic views of London’s skyline.

The menu showcases the pinnacle of classic French fine dining. Each dish is crafted with the highest-quality seasonal ingredients, incorporating British and European influences with innovative techniques that highlight Ramsay’s signature perfectionism. The native lobster was a sophisticated dish, the lobster was lightly smoked with its claw rolled into pastry with scallop before topping with sliced pumpkin and caviar, very refined. The turbot was my favorite dish of the night, it was lightly steamed and stuffed with black truffle, before garnished with a killer white wine sauce, it looked simple but so much effort went into it. The main course of duck was perhaps the weakest dish of the meal, the meat was a little tough and I felt it wasn't resting long enough with some blood still left when served, but the flavours were great.

A key highlight of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay High is the open kitchen concept, allowing guests to engage with the chefs as they prepare each dish with precision. This intimate approach brings a chef’s table experience to new heights, where every movement, from plating to final garnishes, feels like part of an orchestrated performance. As far as the seating however, I wasn't a fan as the chairs are not the most comfortable and you are sitting so close to other guests... when you sit there for 3 plus hours, it could get a bit tiring toward the end. As for food quality, I found it to be similar to Gordon's OG 3-star restaurant in Chelsea but perhaps more modern and clean at the same time. For sure, I am expecting improvement given it is so early days of the opening.
