Dirty Bone Carnaby

Premium fast food

baby back ribs

This is Dirty Bone's second site after its original was founded in Kensington two years ago. I was not overly impressive with neither of the fried chicken or hot dogs from Kensington when it was newly launched. The menu has since expanded with plenty of new starters and burgers, plus a weekend brunch menu too. Dirty Bone Soho is located on the top floor of Carnaby food hub, and once again with a large selection of specially designed neon light to give the restaurant a dark and night club vibe. The starter of salt and pepper squid was decent enough, smooth, tender with finely seasoned crispy edge, however at £8 is a very questionable dish as the portion was tiny. The hot wings were seriously challenging on the palate, the Louisiana-style hot sauce packed a punch with its burning hot flavours.

The main of baby back ribs was a real winner, the meat was moist with a lovely smoky aroma, the sweet miso and jalapeƱo glaze proven to be the perfect combo. The tender beef short rib was also wonderful, almost melt in your mouth texture with rich flavours from the chipotle and lime glaze, the mixture of sourness and spiciness worked wonders with the sesame seeds offered a lovely nutty touch. Dirty Bone's food was, without question, very dirty, it was junk food done in a gourmet style in a fairy impressive manner. But that is also reflected in the cost, with happy hour cocktails (£5 each) and a dessert to share, it costed me £80 for 2 person which is extremely expensive for the quality of the food and the surrounding. Hardly good value for money.
