Noble Palace

Dim sum fit for a noble

Squid ink prawn toast

Despite it having only been open for a year, I can't believe I have been to Noble Palce for 13th times already. The low-key fine-dining Chinese dining den is one of my favorite places for dim sum lunch. Unlike many of its Chinatown counterparts, it is not very busy and overcrowded, and the food offering is on another level. The price per dim sum is almost double of course, but you pay for the craftsmanship. No msg, no colouring, and plenty of fine ingredients, like Iberico pork, truffle, and Cornish crab.

Crab and prawn dumplings

The crab dumpling tasted as good as it looked. The sweet crab and prawn filling were lovely and fresh, full of umami taste. It was steamed to perfection with an addition of fish roe to make the whole thing so elegant. The Noble signature prawn toast had a whole shrimp stuffed inside the toast and had a creative touch with the addition of squid ink paste which enriched the flavour of the sea. It was baked perfectly and not oily at all. The grilled Iberico pork was stunning, it had a melting texture, super moist and I really loved the sweet savoury taste, as well as the lovely charred crispy edge.

Prawn and mushrooms fried rolls

As usual, the dim sum lunch at Noble Palce was a classy yet not overly expensive experience. The craftsmanship of the dim sum was clear to see, the steam items were especially outstanding. The service was once again outstanding too, which is such a far cry from most Chinese restaurants in London. As far as dim sum quality, this place, along with China Tang and Park Chinois, are the places to go if are willing to pay a little more for better quality dim sum.
