Quality Chop House is an iconic restaurant that effortlessly blends history with modern culinary innovation. I always head back once in a while as at the heart of the Quality Chop House experience is its dedication to top-notch, fine-quality ingredients. The menu regularly features cuts from lesser-known parts of the animal, championing nose-to-tail dining, such as fish head and chicken liver. The restaurant prides itself on showcasing the finest British meats with simple old-school preparation techniques, with cast iron pans, a load of butter, and an open fire.

For my 10th visit, I opted for its feasting menu with a selection of starters to share among a group of friends. New on the menu is a cold crab dish, sitting on top of some saffron rice which had a lovely sweet peppery note. The main event Mangalitza collar was truly special, the pork was cooked pink and was so tender, seasoned to perfection with such a rich fatty pork flavour. The side of Yorkshire pudding was also wonderful, light, crispy, and very buttery, it was the perfect partner with the pork when you drop a pile of gravy on top.

It was the first time I had a Sunday roast at Quality Chop House, and I was really amazed by the quality of it, easily one of the very top roasted dinners in London for me, not to mention the service is always strong in this place. Quality Chop House isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a celebration of British cuisine at its finest. From its historic setting to its focus on ethical sourcing and simple, honest food, it’s no wonder that this spot has remained a favorite among Londoners for over a century. Whether you’re tucking into a hearty chop or savoring a glass of wine with friends, the experience is one of genuine quality and craftsmanship.
