Meat Temple of London

Pollock head in miso butter |
Not a lot of places I would head back to often, but Quality Chop House is a rare beast. The British meaty restaurant is all about big chops, cooked in a traditional manner with an open fire and cast iron pan, loaded with plenty of butter. I always would pay a visit every once in a while to enjoy a meaty treat. For my 9th visit, I opted for some big chops action as usual, as well as trying some new dishes from its starter selection.

What caught my eye was a whole pollock head and its belly, the fish was cooked perfectly, very moist and buttery. The miso butter added an extra layer of richness and increased the sweetness of the pollock, I really enjoyed how the restaurant has taken advantage of a fish head and turned it into something special. The star dish without a doubt was the 800g Hereford bone-in sirloin, cooked medium rare as it should be with such a bold, meaty taste. It was tender and nicely seasoned, and the meat surrounding the bone was especially outstanding.

As expected, Quality Chop House delivered another winning meal occasion. The team really knows how to turn out bold, rich rich-tasting dishes using some really lovely British ingredients. Beyond the food, the service is what makes this place truly remarkable. All the staff are warm, friendly with great attention to detail. In fact, the service at Quality Chop House is a lot better than other fine dining restaurants in London. This is a place I will always have time for.
