I have almost lost count of how many times I have been to The Ledbury (25 times!), situated in the heart of Notting Hill, London, which has been a cornerstone of the city's fine dining scene since its inception in 2005 and won the prestigious award of three Michelin stars in 2024. The restaurant is renowned for its commitment to seasonal ingredients, many of which are sourced from their own livestock, including deer, Jersey cows, and Iberian pigs. This dedication to quality is evident in their meticulously crafted tasting menus, which offer a harmonious blend of flavors and textures.

On my latest visit, I had a tasting menu that contained some really exceptional dishes. The rolled Dover sole wrapped with black truffle was a world-class fish dish, it was cooked perfectly and somehow the use of Japanese radish uplifted the taste of the fish thanks to its mild sweetness. The main event of Chinese water deer loin was another outstanding dish, the meat was so tender with just the right level of earthiness, and the addition of artichoke was a nice touch too, it was perhaps the best game dish I have tasted in London so far.

As expected, the food was as good as ever, powerful in taste and everything worked in perfect harmony. Beyond the food, The Ledbury's relaxed yet refined atmosphere sets it apart from more traditional fine-dining establishments. The service is attentive without being intrusive, contributing to an exceptional dining experience. In summary, The Ledbury continues to be a beacon of culinary excellence in London, offering an unparalleled dining experience that seamlessly blends innovation with tradition.
