Steak heaven

Goodman shouldn't be a stranger to any Londoners, it has a reputation of producing the best steak in London with locations across Canary Wharf, The City and Mayfair. They are also the same people who brought you the infamous Burger & Lobster and Beast. It has been well overdue for me to visit Goodman for its legendary steak and I was very excited to check out the Canary Wharf branch on a fine summer early evening.

Our waiter introduced us to a range of raw cuts to explain the profile and characteristic of each part, we decided to go for a giant porterhouse to share, the beauty of the cut is that you get both the sirloin and fillet steak. We went for medium rare as it should be and what can I say, the steak was easily one of the the finest I've tasted in London. The sirloin was juicy and tender with lovely robust flavours, while the fillet was smooth and cut like butter, the texture was incredible and rich in taste. For dessert we had the Strawberry Eton Mess, lovely fresh and fruity taste to round off a solid dinner.

Goodman indeed lived up to its reputation of delivering some top notch steak, in fact it was easily better than another highly regarded steak joint the Hawksmoor. The team behind Goodman did a great job in sourcing the meat and I can't wait to return to try other cuts that I've yet to taste. In Goodman I found the best steak joint in London, truly a meat lovers heaven.
