Ristorante Miky Cinque Terre

Stunning seafood restaurant in Cinque Terre

Raw seafood of red prawns, tuna and seabass

On my trip touring around Northern Italy, one of the highlights was visiting the great Cinque Terre, the beautiful area that made up of 5 small villages on the coast of Liguria. I had not done any restaurant research in advance while I visited Cinque Terre, while I was searching for a lunch spot at Monterosso (one of the 5 villages), I walked passed Ristorante Miky and I decided to take a chance to check out this seafood specialist restaurant. It was only while I am inside and checking online, I found out Ristorante Miky is actually one of the most highly regarded fine dining restaurant in the area. The menu is mostly seafood based, with the classic Italian choices of starters, first course, mains, and desserts.

Spaghetti alla chitarra served!

For starter, I had a selection of raw seafood that contained some melting tuna, and exceptional red prawns, loaded with sweet and luxurious shellfish both in aroma and flavours. As for pasta, I had the house special Spaghetti alla chitarra, a pasta dish that cooked with fresh anchovies, tomato, pint nuts, and olives. Served tableside with a bread dough covering the dish and finished it in the oven to create some serious richness to the pasta. it was packed with wonderful umami tastes while maintaining the freshness of the ingredients. For the main, it was a seafood party of sauteed langoustine, red prawns and shrimps. I especially enjoyed the red prawns which had a hint of smoky note with an impactful elegant shellfish flavour, It was a pure sensation.

Ristorante Miky was a lucky discovery, without planning to visit in the first place, I managed to dine in one of the very best seafood restaurants on my trip to Italy. The seafood quality was simply top notch, very fresh and mostly comes from the local sea area. Combining with chef-owner Miky's cooking skill, along with a touch of creativity, resulting in top-level seafood dishes that in my view, is Michelin star level. Another thing I really enjoyed at Miky is its tableside service, such as serving a whole fish baked in salt or delivering a firework when serving the house special dish Spaghetti alla chitarra. On top of that, it has such a beautiful view of the sea, making this restaurant one of the best Cinque Terre has to offer.
