Malaysian themed feast

Nanyang Blossom is a brand-new Malaysian-themed restaurant located in Knightsbridge. What sets this venue apart from the other Malaysian restaurants in London is that it has a much more upmarket approach, is far more creative, and does not shy away from using premium ingredients. Co-owner chef Daren Liew created a range of signature dishes you would not find elsewhere, with an innovative approach and Western influences. For my second visit, I opted for a chef-special bespoke menu, with most dishes coming from its alc menu, as well as Daren's signature offerings.

Grilled scallops with okas |

Softshell crab with wasabi |
The meal kicked off with a range of starters first, I fell in love with the crab fritters, which used blue swimmer crab for that extra sweetness, and somehow it worked magically with sweet potato. The Hokkien stir-fried noodles had a wonderful shellfish sauce that was packed full of umami taste, and the texture of the E-fu noodles was so smooth and didn't soften when it sat in the sauce. It was served with 2 giant prawns, almost like Daren's version of the classic Chinese stir-fried lobster noodles dish. The A4 Miyazaki wagyu beef was seasoned and cooked just right, with a melting texture as expected, I found the quality of the beef was so high that garnishes weren't required.

Char-grilled rack of lamb “Char Siu” |

A4 Royale Miyazaki sirloin |
My second visit to Nanyang Blossom gave me a banquet-style feast that I could hardly walk afterward, the food quality was miles ahead of any other Malaysian restaurants in London easily. I totally understand the price reflects that but I found that given the Knightsbridge location and the setting of the venue, I felt it justified the price tag. On a final note, the restaurant accepts bespoke menu requests which is what I have asked for, so you can come up with a tasting menu adjust to your own liking.
