Express steak joy

I was in love with the Tamworth belly ribs starter, the meat was very tender and the spices combined really well with the pork fat with the sourness of the vinegar slaw offset the richness of the meat. I was less impressed with the main of rib eye steak, the meat was served medium, but I requested medium rare, the meat was still very moist on the inside with great depth of flavours but I found the surface of the meat was over grilled, the charcoal element was far too strong and which make the steak tasted rather bitter on the outside. The peanut butter shortbread was a naughty but sensational dessert, the nutty sweetness with both smooth and crunchy texture was a joy to eat.

Overall, it was a great lunch, a tiny hiccup with the steak, but everything else were fabulous, the side dishes were also excellent, in fact the triple cooked trips are some of the best I have tasted in London. You are looking at paying a similar price for less than average steak chains elsewhere in London such as Angus Steakhouse so Hawksmoor's express lunch deal was indeed great value for money, service as expected was also very friendly and well mannered, I got nothing but love for Hawksmoor.
