Park Chinois

The king of Chinese cuisine in London

Native Lobster, Vermicelli Noodles, Scrambled Eggs

After trying out most of the top end Chinese restaurants in London, it is fair to say that Park Chinois is clearly above the rest. Put the glamour and nightclub elements away, if we are just focusing on the food, it is really exceptional. And I am wondering why the hell it has not yet reach Michelin star status. Not only the cooking is clever with a modern touch, but Park Chinois is also committed to source really high standard ingredients to offer exceptional Chinese fine dining quality cooking. I am back at Park Chinois for the fourth time for a special celebration, knowing that without a doubt, something spectacular will be waiting for me.

Mushroom soup
Duck de Chine
Park Carbonara, Inaniwa Udon, Sea Urchin, 65˚Organic Egg

I got the chance to try its "duck de chine" for the first time, Park Chinois' version of Peking duck. The skin was so thin and crispy, with a fine balance of sweetness and saltiness. The meat was so tender too, it was Peking duck done at such a refined level. The native lobster was cooked to perfection, sweet with a lovely hint of natural sweetness, the vermicelli noodles absorbed all the wonderful lobster essence while the scrambled eggs offered a smooth and creamy texture to the finish. Another wonderful dish was the braised Chilean wagyu beef short ribs, super moist with a melting texture, the combination of black bean and mandarin peel offered a comforting rich and fruity aroma to the beef.

Crispy French Turbot, Crab, Supreme Dried Scallop Broth
Steamed grouper, Soya, Ginger, Spring Onions
Spanish Carabinero, Sea Urchin, Peppers, Steamed Egg
Steamed Kamchatka King Crab, 5yr Shaoxing Wine, Rice Noodles
Braised Chilean Wagyu Beef Short Ribs

Park Chinois delivered yet another exceptional meal, every single dishes were done expertly, a rarity for a multi-course meal. There are only a few places I would return often at the fine dining level, Park Chinois is firmly in that territory along with The Ledbury and Alyn Williams at The Westbury. Simply put, Park Chinois is easily the best Chinese fine dining restaurant in London, and if you are looking for a spectacular evening in style with top-level Chinese cuisine to match, then you got to give Park Chinois a try.
