Noble Palace

Dine like a Noble

King crab legs stir fry Hong Kong wind shelter style

Noble Palace is my go-to place for a special Chinese dining occasion when I want something that you would normally not able to find in a typical Chinese restaurant in London. The beauty of this place is that you are able to pre-order pretty much any Chinese dishes you would like as long as you give them notice in advance. This keeps this place exciting and gives me a good reason to head back for more. For the 16th visit, I have requested Noble Palace to prepare an Alaskan crab dish.

Dried shrimp, crab, Iberico pork and prawn dumplings

Prawn crispy rice rolls and eel and seaweed rice rolls

King crabs steamed in egg white and rice wine

Before the main event, I had a selection of dim sum as I always enjoyed its dim sum. In fact, I would rate its dim sum to be the top 5 in London. The shao mai is the star of the dim sum show here, the use of Iberico ham, along with dried shiitake mushrooms delivers such a rich meaty umami. The sweet eel rice rolls were another outstanding dish, the sweet teriyaki eel filling was wrapped with a layer of crispy tofu skin, followed by some smooth rice rolls. The steamed Alaskan crab (one of 2 ways of serving the crab on the day) was steamed in egg white and rice wine, the soft sweet crab taste was so beautiful, it worked like a treat with a side of seafood fried rice.

Squid ink and scallop dumplings

Pumpkin and truffle dumplings

Braised seabass in sake and soy

I didn't have one single bad dish from my lunch visit, the dim sum was as good as expected. The Alaskan two ways was a real treat for any crab lovers. Service was also outstanding as always, so in short, it was a really top-notch dining experience. Bespoke dishes using such a luxury ingredient (The crab) pushed up the price of my visit, but if you just go for standard dim sum dishes, you can easily leave this place at under 50 pounds per person including a drink. Noble is a rare gem in London for classy Chinese food lovers.
