Nestled in the heart of Kensington, Krokodilos is a Greek fine-dining establishment that aims to transport diners to the sun-kissed landscapes of Greece. With its opulent interiors and a menu that pays homage to traditional Greek flavors, the restaurant offers an experience that is both immersive and indulgent. Helmed by Chef Angelos Togias, formerly of the Connaught, the kitchen presents a menu that celebrates the diversity of Greek cuisine. Dishes are crafted with a focus on authenticity and quality, utilizing ingredients sourced from various regions of Greece.

The beetroot salad sounded simple on paper, but visually it was very appealing once it arrived on the table, and even better in taste. The mixture of crunch and buttery texture with a refreshing note just hit all the right spots for me. The star dish of the day was the langoustine orzo; the shellfish was cooked just right with a powerful, sweet, and fresh taste. The orzo pasta itself was just as good, smooth in texture, and contained a great depth of seafood essence. Perhaps less impressive was the grilled red mullet, which was full of small bones and a touch overcooked.

With its elegant ambiance, thoughtfully crafted menu, and commitment to hospitality, the restaurant provides patrons with a memorable dining experience that honors the rich traditions of Greece. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in achieving consistency across all dishes, Krokodilos' strengths in ambiance, service, and culinary innovation make it a fun and relaxing place with a taste of the Mediterranean in the heart of London.
