Wild Flowers

 Open fire Mediterranean-inspired restaurant

Baked mushroom rice, sherry, wild garlic

Tucked into the stylish Newson’s Yard development in Belgravia, Wild Flowers is a refined but relaxed Mediterranean-inspired restaurant that sidesteps the pomp of fine dining without sacrificing quality or craft. Helmed by chef Aaron Potter, whose résumé includes the Michelin-starred Trinity and Elystan Street, Wild Flowers delivers a sharply focused menu built around seasonal ingredients and live-fire cooking. I visited when it was opened not long ago before Christmas back in 2024, and it delighted me that I have decided to return in 2025.

Iberico pork chop, pear, almond

Fried polenta, speck, honey

Grilled red mullet, lemon, sardine bruschetta

The food is built on clarity, produce, and confident execution. Everything is easy to understand visually and is based on top-quality ingredients. I found the rice dishes here to be as good as anywhere else in London. The red prawn rice had a wonderful seafood essence and an inviting sour note from the tomato. However, the real star here, without a doubt, is the signature dish, Iberico pork chop. The pork was cooked just right, as tender as you can get for pork. The granishes worked like a treat to get the best out of the pork too. The creamy almond and gremolata offered a rich nutty flavour with a sharp edge, offering great balance to the dish.

Red prawn and sweetbread baked rice

Lamb rump, red wine, artichoke

Olive oil ice cream

The second visit was a notch above my first, which I suspect the kitchen team is now more settled. The food hits that elusive balance between sophisticated and straightforward. It is one of those places I would be more than happy to return to, just a shame it's so far from where I live! Wild Flowers isn’t about chasing accolades—it’s about creating a place people want to return to. And it succeeds, not just because of the fire-kissed dishes or the playful wine list, but because it feels personal. In a city crowded with culinary statements, Wild Flowers is refreshingly sincere.
